One Brit and two Brazilian Londoners, with influences drawn from both sides of the (southern) atlantic.
Matheus Nova (bass) is well known for his collaborations and contributions to projects with Antonio Forcione, Ed Motta, Saravah Soul and Jazzinho. Marious Rodrigues’ (drums) deep knowledge of grooves from all over the planet has helped him contribute to a large catalogue of folk, fusion, pop, jazz as well as Brazilian recording projects. Phil Dawson (guitar) has appeared, recorded and collaborated with a long list of well-known artists from both Brazil and West Africa, where the inspiration for many of these grooves originates.
This guitar, bass and drums combination puts a huge variety of sources through the blender: from David Bowie tunes to Marcos Valle and Joao Donato; original tunes have been forged from flavours of South African-tinged gospel, Ghanaian hilife, Brazilian baiao and desert blues from Mali.
